The first academic premiere of the aria Infeliz de mi will be finally on March 27, 2014 at the Nicolini Conservatory in Piacenza. The work is a part of the first act of the opera “Magallanes” that was commissioned to the Italian composers Marco Reghezza and Giovanni Scapecchi by José Manuel Nuñez de la Fuente, Director of the Royal Foundation “Atarazanas” of Seville and librettist, to celebrete the 500th anniversary of the first circumnavigation of the Earth made by an expedition left from Seville in 1519 and commanded by the famous Portuguese commander Magallanes.

The Argentine baritone Luciano Miotto will perform it accompanied by the pianist Corrado Casati, Choir Director of the Teatro Municipale of Piacenza. Miotto who is a resident singer of Seville will play Magallanes also in the future performances. The sad story of the opera (Magallanes will not carry his expedition out as he die in the Philippines) also presents his beloved Beatriz played by the Japanese soprano Sachika Ito.

The two singers were the protagonists of the official premieres in Seville on May 28th at the Teatro Lope De Vega and on May 29th in Plaza San Francisco with an audience of several thousand people and at the presence of the Minister of Tourism of Argentina, Carlos Enrique Meyer and some of the delegates of the Global Network Magellan cities.

On last July 25th during the Music Festival “Paesi in Musica attorno al Pizzo d’Evigno” the two singers obtained the applause of the audience by presenting a varied program including the Italian premieres of some arias from Magallanes and for this reason it is waiting for their next performance in Bestagno on July 16 thanks to Alexander Piana, President of the Provincial Council, that was impressed by their execution last year.
